Backed up by Santa Fe National Forest mesas, badlands and canyons,
Casa Los Frijoles offers wide views towards the Chama River. Its
peaceful setting at the end of a dirt driveway guarantees the
only sounds to be heard are those produced by a scala of wild
birds, depending on the season from Canadian Geese to Hummingbirds,
from Ravens to Blue Jays, with an occasional Crane or Bald Eagle
to get excited about, and by coyotes and stray cattle. Splendid
trouts are challenging the fisherman in the nearby Chama River.
Hikers will discover hundreds of exciting ways to approach the
back country directly from the house and, surprising in the high
desert, many opportunities for refreshment in a spring-fed creek
that even creates waterfalls.
The house sleeps two. Its contemporary open plan is spacious and
offers great comfort. The kitchen is well equipped and a delight
to work in. Sun / mud room. Two bathrooms, one with full bath.
Kingsize bed in the bedroom with a view. Radiant heat plus wood
stove. Patios in front and in the back of the house. A fire pit.
Shady cottonwood trees.
Casa Los Frijoles is only available when booked three months ahead
for periods of 7 nights minimum, up to 30 nights maximum. Further
information upon request.
